《六字大明咒》佛教最常見的咒語,是觀世音菩薩慈悲與智慧的結晶,故又稱為觀音心咒,此六字真言,唵,為梵文的字母 A、U、M 所組成,代表身語意三業;嘛呢,為珍寶,意指利他行;叭咪,為蓮花,意指清靜的智慧;吽,為結合意;
全句為慈悲與智慧的利他行,可圓滿成就身心安樂的佛果。

身口意所造的惡業,讓我們在六道輪迴中深受其苦,持誦《六字大明咒》可轉化不淨的苦因,成清淨的樂果,圓滿六度修行,讓我們免受傷害及各種疾病之侵害。

“The Six-Character Great Bright Mantra” is the most common mantra in Buddhism. It is the result of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s compassion and wisdom, so it is also called the “Guanyin Heart Mantra.” “Om”, composed of Sanskrit letters A, U, M, represents the three karmas of the body. “Ma-Net” means “treasure,” referring to altruistic behavior. "Beh-Meh" means “lotus,” referring to wisdom in peace. “Hom” is a combination of all of these things. The whole sentence comprises the altruism of compassion and wisdom, which can fully achieve the result of physical and mental well-being.

The karma created by body, mouth and mind makes us suffer deeply among the six classes of beings within samsara. Reciting the "The Six-Character Great Bright Mantra" can transform impure suffering into a pure and happy ending and overcome the six rounds of self-cultivation, which prevent us from suffering from harm and disease.

痛苦、恐懼、刑罰 Tòng kǔ, kǒng jùe, xíng fá
煩惱、嫉妒、愚癡 fán nǎo, jí dù, yú chī
我慢、慳吝、憎恨 wǒ màan, qiān lìn, zēng hèn
地獄之門亦得封閉dì yù zhī mén yì dér fēng bì,
堵塞六道門，不墮入六道輪迴 dǔ sè liù dào mén, bù duò rù liù dào lún huí
往生淨土而證得果 wǎng shēng jìng tǔ ér zhèng dé guǒ

「嗡」是身金剛語金剛意金剛「Om」shì shēn jīn gāng yǔ jīn gāng yì jīn gāng
「瑪尼」為利他而成佛，開悟之心，慈悲心。「mǎ ní」wèi Lì tā ér chéng fó, kāi wù zhī xīn, cí bēi xīn.
「貝妹」是蓮花，出淤泥而不染「PAD ME」shì liánhuā, chū yūu ní ér bù rǎn
「吽」是請求觀世音菩薩的加持「hōng」shì qǐng qiú guān shining pú sà der jiā chí

消除傲慢心消除嫉妒貪心癡心，xiāo chú ào màn xīn xiāo chú jí dù tān xīn chī xīn,
消除吝嗇心嗔心關閉轉生地獄之門。Xiāo chú lìn sè xīn chēn xīn guān bì zhuǎn shēng dì yù zhī mén.

消除傲慢心消除嫉妒貪心癡心，xiāo chú ào màn xīn xiāo chú jí dù tān xīn chī xīn,
消除吝嗇心嗔心關閉轉生地獄之門。Xiāo chú lìn sè xīn chēn xīn guān bì zhuǎn shēng dì yù zhī mén.
