Amitabha, the name of the Buddha, means “infinite light and life.” Reciting "Namo Amitabha" is a practice of Pure Land Buddhism within Mahayana Buddhism. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas save human beings from various fates, so it is most convenient to correspond and call to their power through reciting their name. Amitabha vows that “All sentient beings in the ten directions, with sincerity, deep belief, and joy, wish to be reborn in in the Western Pure Lands, and even those who only recite my name ten times can make it. If this person cannot be reborn in the Pure Lands, I would rather not attain enlightenment.” Therefore, reciting the name of the Buddha not only results in one being protected by Amitabha's vows, but can also ensure that one is reincarnated in the Pure Land as a believer.

Second WTF was everything every goddamn member of this band does. This and the previous album have been on repeat for weeks. All other music tastes like diet water. Help. Gruso

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
